PITWALL FAQ

Questions about the current closed beta.

Clear answers about Pitwall availability, Garmin access, supported sports, athlete control, privacy, AI assistance, and the current pilot stage.

Current statusThese answers reflect the project state on 4 September 2026. The public website and invite-only application are live. Temporary Garmin synchronization is controlled; public registration, official Garmin API access, and workout publication are not available.

01

Can I use Pitwall now?

Only as an invited closed-beta athlete. The production application supports goals, planning, Today, manual and file-based activity import, matching, route playback, progress and PR review, Body Check, Buddy, missed reasons, export, and deletion. Invitations are reviewed manually and public registration remains closed.

02

Does Pitwall replace Garmin Connect?

No. Garmin Connect and compatible devices record and synchronize the activity. Pitwall is intended to put that completed work beside a target created or approved in Pitwall, then help the athlete review what changed.

03

Which Garmin access is requested?

The controlled beta has an experimental temporary connector for approved athletes. It uses credentials only to establish a Garmin session and does not store the password or MFA code. Separately, the pending official evaluation request covers the Garmin Connect Activity API and Training API; workout publication is disabled until that path is approved.

04

Can a faulty activity distort my personal records?

An activity is eligible for personal-record calculations by default. If GPS, power, or another source value is faulty, the athlete can exclude that activity from PR calculations without removing it from training history or period totals, and can include it again later.

05

What can Pitwall Buddy do?

Buddy can answer questions from saved training context, remember an explicitly stated stable preference, track athlete-described context, and prepare plan changes for review. It cannot diagnose an injury or silently change the plan; the athlete accepts, edits, or rejects every proposal.

06

Which sports can the plan represent?

The provider-neutral model supports running, cycling, swimming, strength, recovery, walking, and generic activities. Pitwall can represent multisport weeks, but it is not a triathlon-only product.

07

Will Pitwall change my plan automatically?

No silent plan rewriting is part of V1. Pitwall may prepare a suggestion and explain why it could help. The athlete reviews the old and new targets, then accepts, edits, or rejects the change.

08

Does Pitwall use AI?

Language models may help prepare target suggestions and explanations. Core planned-versus-completed measurements remain explainable, connected training data is not intended to train a general-purpose model, and the athlete remains the decision-maker.

09

Is Pitwall a coach or medical service?

No. Pitwall is a training sidecar. It does not replace a qualified coach, clinician, or the athlete's own knowledge of pain, illness, injury, medication, and recovery context.

10

How is training data protected?

The design uses first-party authentication, encrypted provider tokens, authenticated request context, and PostgreSQL row-level security. Export, deletion, production backup, and restore controls are live. Invited-user cross-account isolation acceptance and support operations remain gates before open beta.
